A person is entitled to vote in a municipal election if they are a qualified elector. That means, on
Voting Day, they must be:
- a resident of the Municipality of Central Manitoulin, or an owner or tenant of land, or the
spouse or same sex partner of such an owner or tenant; - a Canadian citizen;
- at least 18 years old; and
- not prohibited from voting by law.
An owner or tenant of non-residential property, or their spouse, is not eligible to vote for a School
Board Trustee.
