Significant Weather Event Still In Effect
The Municipality of Central Manitoulin advises residents that the Inclement Weather Advisory issued March 15, 2026 remains in effect throughout March 16 and 17, 2026, as crews continue working to address the impacts of the recent winter storm.
Staff are working diligently to catch up following the significant amount of snow and ice received. The advisory will remain in effect while road and sidewalk maintenance continues.
We appreciate the public’s patience and cooperation during these efforts to bring conditions back to normal standards. Please continue to use caution when travelling throughout the municipality.
Municipal staff will continue to monitor conditions and updates will be shared on the municipal website and social media as conditions change.
Also note, with the temperature drop and the possibility of ongoing power outages, the Municipality of Central Manitoulin has opened the Council Chambers today as a warming station. Anyone needing a safe, warm place is encouraged to stop in.
