As the moon aligns perfectly between Earth and the Sun, parts of Ontario will experience temporary darkness.

Please be advised there was a large internet outage on Manitoulin Island that occurred at around 8:15 pm Tuesday March 12, 2024 during the Property Committee meeting. The outage affected the connection for the Zoom video/teleconference participants in the hybrid virtual and in person meeting. Council voted to finish the remainder of the agenda.

Please be advised that half load restrictions on all Central Manitoulin Municipal roads will start on March 2nd, 2024.

Due to yesterday’s weather conditions, the full garbage and recycling pick-up route could not be completed before service had to be suspended.

After careful consideration the Annual Central Manitoulin Youth Ice Fishing Tournament has been cancelled for March Break 2024 as ice conditions have not been consistent and public safety is our priority. We look forward to hosting the event in 2025!
