Sidewalk Maintenance Efforts In Progress
The Municipality of Central Manitoulin advises residents that sidewalk maintenance has been challenging following the recent storm. Significant ice and snow accumulation has made it difficult for standard equipment, and the sidewalk cleaner is not sufficient under the current conditions.
Crews will be bringing in heavier equipment to properly remove the buildup and restore safe access along municipal walkways. This work will take time, and we appreciate the public’s patience as crews work to address these conditions.
Residents are urged to avoid using the sidewalks, as the current surfaces will be slippery and uneven. Please also exercise care when approaching or passing any equipment being used for snow and ice removal.
Thank you for your understanding and cooperation as we work to improve sidewalk safety.
