Increased Flood Risk For the Town of Mindemoya
The Municipality is advising that there is a high possibility of further flooding in the Town of Mindemoya.
The Municipality has been advised by the Provincial Emergency Operations Centre that approximately 20mm of rain is expected by tomorrow morning. The Municipality has also been advised by the Ministry of Natural Resources that they will be removing ½ a log from the Big Lake Dam tomorrow.
Areas impacted will include:
- Hwy 542 (from Elliot Road to Hwy 551)
- Hwy 551 (from Hwy 542 to Hare’s Creek)
- Thorne Street (from Forest Street to Yonge Street)
- Forest Street (from Thorne Street to Hwy 542)
The combination of these events may result in significant flooding within the town tomorrow, and overnight to Sunday morning.
