Drinking Water Advisory Issued for Mindemoya
Public Health Sudbury & Districts has issued a Drinking Water Advisory, effective immediately, for all residents of the Town of Mindemoya who receive water from the Mindemoya water treatment system.
This advisory follows a loss of water pressure that temporarily interrupted the municipal water supply. While service has since been restored, residents are advised not to use tap water for human consumption until further notice.
Under the Drinking Water Advisory, municipal water should NOT be used for drinking, making juice, infant formula, or ice, cooking, washing uncooked fruits and vegetables, and brushing teeth.
Boiling the water may not make it safe. Residents are strongly encouraged to use an alternate water source, such as bottled or potable water.
Municipal water can still be used for laundry and bathing (excluding small children who may swallow the water).
Public Health Sudbury & Districts will continue to monitor the situation and will notify the municipality when the advisory can be lifted.
To support residents during this advisory, the Municipality has arranged for potable water access from a water truck located outside the Mindemoya Arena. Residents are asked to bring their own containers to fill. There is also bottled water available at the Municipal Office in limited quantities. Residents may come in and request bottled water if needed.
The water truck will be available until 9:00 p.m. today, and the Municipal Office will remain open until that time for bottled water distribution on April 13th, 2026.
Residents are encouraged to use the potable water truck and fill personal containers first, helping to ensure bottled water remains available for those who need it most.
Information on water truck availability for tomorrow will be shared on the Municipality’s website and social media channels.
Residents are encouraged to monitor the Municipality’s website and social media pages for updates regarding the Drinking Water Advisory and water availability.
The Municipality thanks residents for their patience and cooperation as Public Health continues to assess the situation.
