  • Notice: Providence Bay Sidewalk Winter Preparation Week of October 28

    Please be advised the Municipality of Central Manitoulin Roads Department will be brushing and conducting general preparation for winter sidewalk maintenance in Providence Bay the week of October 28th, 2024.

    The affected area will be along Highway 551 (ON-551) in Providence Bay, ON from Mary Steet to Mira Street.

    Notice to adjacent landowners has been sent by registered mail Monday September 30th, 2024.

  • Spring Bay Yoga Cancelled October 16 2024

    Please be advised the Wednesday October 16th 2024 gentle yoga in Spring Bay is cancelled. Sorry for any inconvenience.

  • Lake Mindemoya Hazard No Longer an Issue for Boater Navigation - Work Continues

    Please be advised the floating municipal water intake pipe hazard in the vicinity of the bay in front of  Ketchankookem Trail and Old Highway 551 on Lake Mindemoya at approximately 45.750610 Latitude , -82.166376 Longitude is no longer a hazard to boating traffic. 

    Please note the repair crew is still in the area securing the weights to the intake pipe. 

     

  • Public Notice: Providence Bay Beach Maintenance Week of September 30th 2024

    The Municipality of Central Manitoulin has been issued a Permit Under Clause 17(2)(c) of the Endangered Species Act, 2007 by the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry. This is specific to the Providence Bay beach and boardwalk maintenance. The work is part of ongoing restoration of the beach that assists the natural ecosystem.  These actions are expected to improve the area for the enjoyment of visitors and enhance the protected habitat, the dune, for species at risk.

  • Municipal Office Closed Labour Day

    Please be advised the Municipal Office will be closed Labour Day Monday September 2nd, 2024. Central Manitoulin staff and Council wish you a fund and safe Labour Day Weekend.

  • Mindemoya Swim Dock Removed

    Due to the Mindemoya swim dock being damaged, it will be removed August 30th, 2024, for the remainder of the season.

  • Potable Water Filling Station Repaired

    Please be advised the coin operated potable water filling station located at 61 Old Highway 551, Mindemoya, ON has been repaired. 

  • Summer Fun Program Last Day August 30th

    The last day of the Central Manitoulin Summer Fun Program will be Friday August 30th, 2024. Thank you to all of the participants and to our summer students Erin and Allison for running such a great program. 

  • Potable Water Filling Station Out of Order

    Update: 2024-08-26 at 11:20 am - The potable water filling station has been repaired. 

     

  • Discovery Centre Last Day of The Season is Sat Aug 31st

    There's still time to visit us at the Discovery Centre at Providence Bay Beach, but please note the last day the Centre is open to the public is Saturday August 30th, 2024.
