January

Mindemoya Men’s Bonspiel – First weekend in January at the Mindemoya Curling Club.
Pearson Brothers Hockey Tournament – 2nd Weekend in January at the Providence Bay Arena.

Mindemoya Ladies Bonspiel – Last weekend in January at the Mindemoya Curling Club.
 

February

Central Manitoulin Family Day Weekend –Annually on Family Day WeekendClasses, Events, Free Sponsored Family Skating.  

Mindemoya Mixed Bonspiel – Annually on the 2nd weekend in February at the Mindemoya Curling Club.

Providence Bay Ladies Bonspiel – Annually on the 3rd weekend in February at the Providence Bay Curling Club.
 

March

Providence Bay Men’s Bonspiel – 2nd weekend in March at the Providence Bay Curling Club
Pancake Breakfast –2nd Saturday in March at the Providence Bay Curling Club. In support of the Providence Bay Junior Curling Program.
Central Manitoulin Youth March Break Fishing Tournament – Annually during the Rainbow District School Board March Break. Over $2500 Central Manitoulin community sponsored cash and prizes in two categories for youth 0 to 18 years of age entering in this exciting virtual ice fishing tournament. Organized by the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.
March Break Family Skating and Sponge Puck - Annually during the Rainbow District School Board March Break at the Providence Bay Arena. Weekends sponsored by the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Recreation Committee and weekdays sponsored by the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club. 

Bradley McAllister Memorial 4 on 4 Hockey Tournament – Last weekend in March at the Providence Bay Arena. Donations to muscular dystrophy.

Windup Funspiel – Last weekend in March at the Providence Bay Curling Club.

Manitoulin 3 on 3 Hockey Tournament – late March early April in M’Chigeeng, ON. Organized by and benefiting the Mindemoya Minor Hockey Association.


April

Central Manitoulin Easter Egg Hunt – Saturday of Easter Weekend at 11 am at the Ball Fields in Mindemoya, ON. Municipal sponsored event with parent volunteers.


May

Yard Sale in Sandfield – Saturday May 20, 2023 at the Sandfield Hall. Fundraiser for the hall.  


June

Manitoulin Passage Ride June 3rd and 4th, 2023, base operations plus Saturday dinner and dance in Mindemoya, ON.  MICA's 2 day fully-supported cycle event, offering 3 daily routes. Great riding, good food and camaraderie creating lasting memories. Visit www.manitoulincycling.com for more information on this annual cycle through Manitoulin Island during the first weekend of June.

Blue Grass in the Country Festival June 9th, 10th and 11th 2023 in Providence Bay, ON at the Fairgrounds.  Music Festival to benefit Special Olympics. Visit www.bluegrassinthecountry.net

41st Pearson Cup Mixed Softball Tournament – Father’s Day Weekend, June 16 to 18, 2023 in Mindemoya at the ball fields. The tournament hosts two divisions – the Sportsman or the 35ers. 

4th Mindemoya Youth Softball Tournament - June 23rd, 24th and 25th, 2023 in Mindemoya, ON at the ball fields. 36 co-ed teams made up of 400 youth aged 5 to 19 will take part in approximately 75 games in the Island's largest youth sporting event. 


July

46th Annual Homecoming Weekend & Manitoulin Ribfest - Canada Day Weekend June 29th and 30th, July 1st and 2nd, 2023 in Mindemoya, ON. Hosted by the Central Manitoulin Lions Club. Events include a Canada Day Parade, Fireworks, Three Big Ribbers, Food trucks, Live Entertainment, Kids games. For more information visit www.manitoulinribfest.ca.

Central Manitoulin Summer Market – Canada Day Weekend June 30th and July 1st at Mindemoya Arena. The event will have 70 local micro business vendors with handmade and direct sales.

Mindemoya Classic Triathlon - Canada Day Weekend in Mindemoya, ON.

Canada Day Celebrations Municipality of Central Manitoulin – July 1st, 2023, held at the Harbour Centre at Providence Bay Beach. Festivities include children’s games, music, cake and Fireworks at 10 pm. 

Annual Canada Day Weekend Yard Sale - July 1, 2 & 3 2023 – Hosted by the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club at the Providence Bay Hall parking lot in Providence Bay, ON.  Please contact Lion Matt at 705-968-1911 for small drop-offs or arranging large pickups.

Yard Sale in Sandfield – Saturday July 1, 2023 at the Sandfield Hall. Fundraiser for the hall.  

Strawberry Social in Sandfield: First week of July with a to be determined day based on fresh berries and a time of from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Sandfield Hall. Check local social media groups for updates. Fresh berries, ice cream, whipping cream and cake.

Our Lady of Canada Church Yard Sale - Saturday, July 8th, 2023. Mindemoya, ON.

Big Lake Fish Dinner - July 19th, 2023 at the Big Lake School House. Includes a craft and yard sale.


August

Sandfield Annual Community Picnic:  Sunday, August 13th.  Potluck, rain or shine at the Sandfield Hall.

Big Lake Fish Dinner – August 16th, 2023 at the Big Lake School House. Includes a craft and yard sale.

Providence Bay Fair August 18th, 19th and 20th, 2023. The “fair” is one Manitoulin Island’s most popular events. Since 1884, this country fair has attracted thousands of visitors and is hosted by the Providence Bay Agricultural Society. Events include a midway, vendors, entertainment, Ambassador Pageant, Parade, and more. The Exhibition Hall holds exhibits on craftwork, baking, fruits and vegetables, floral arrangements, quilting displays, photography and more. Annual Pancake Breakfast – Sunday August 19th, 2023 Providence Bay Hall, Providence Bay, ON. Spring Bay/Province Bay Lions Club.

September

Sandfield Corn Boil: Early September (when local corn is ready).  Fresh local corn, barbecued foot long wieners with all the fixings. Sandfield Hall in Sandfield, ON.

October

Central Manitoulin Fall Market – 2nd weekend in October at the Providence Bay Arena.
Halloween Dance Saturday October 28th, 2023, 8 pm to 1 am at the Providence Bay Hall. Hosted by the Providence Bay/Spring Bay Lions Club.

Mindemoya Haunted Trail Saturday October 28th 6pm to 10 pm at the Pioneer Museum Trail in Mindemoya, ON. Hosted by the Central Manitoulin Lions Club. Proceeds go to the Central Manitoulin Historical Society.


November

Providence Bay Annual Fowl Supper – Mid-November at the Providence Bay Hall. Fundraiser put on by the Providence Bay Community Centre Board.
Mindemoya Shopping Spree – Mid-November in Mindemoya, ONUp to fifteen participating businesses offering, deals, draws and prizes for holiday shopping.


December

Providence Bay Cashspiel - Annually on the first weekend in December at the Providence Bay Curling Club.
Central Manitoulin Christmas Celebration First Saturday in December. Saturday December 2, 2023. Retail shopping event day, parade, tree lighting at Island Home Outfitters, market, toy drive, meet Santa and free public skating!

Central Manitoulin Christmas Break - Annually during the Rainbow District School Board Christmas Break. Free business sponsored family skating, classes and events.

Weekly

Sandfield Euchre: Every Wednesday at 7:30 pm until at least Thanksgiving 2023 at the Sandfield Hall.  New players welcome.
