Renting a Facility in Central Manitoulin

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin offers several halls and arenas for rent to suit a variety of community and private events, from meetings and fundraisers to weddings and tournaments. Each facility offers different features such as kitchen access, meeting space, or spectator seating - perfect for gatherings of all sizes. 

How to Book a Facility

Renting a facility is now easier than ever with our new online municipal booking software!
You can conveniently rent a hall, arena, or other municipal facility online - simply click here to access the booking portal. 

To complete your booking: 

1. Log in or create an account through the online system. 
2. Complete the online Facility Booking and Rental Contract.
3. Provide proof of liability insurance listing the Municipality of Central Manitoulin as additionally insured.
4. Submit all required forms and payments. 

Please note:

• Regular bookings must be made at least 14 days in advance.
• Large events (such as festivals, tournaments, or events with vendors, alcohol service, or road closures) require a minimum of 6 months notice.

Event Liability Insurance Requirements

When hosting a special event on municipal property, event organizers are now required to carry liability insurance. The Municipality's insurance does not cover rentals and events. If an incident occurs that causes injury or property damage, you may be held legally responsible.

Minimum Coverage

• A minimum of $5 million in liability insurance is required.
• Higher coverage may be required for events involving high-risk activities such as fireworks, inflatables, or licensed events.
• Once insurance is obtained, organizers must submit a certificate of insurance showing the Municipality of Central Manitoulin as additionally insured at least 10 days before the event. 

Insurance Options

Event organizers can obtain coverage through their own insurance provider or through the Municipality’s Facility User Group Insurance Policy.

The Facility User Group Policy offers affordable coverage for individuals, groups, and organizations renting municipal facilities for meetings, events, or recreational activities. This policy does not cover organized sports or licensed events.
