The Municipality’s Christmas Celebration Toy Hat, Mitt and Toque Drive filled two large boxes of new items to be added to the Manitoulin Family Resources (MFR) Christmas Hampers.
The Quilt Raffle with the help of the Central Manitoulin Lions Club and an anonymous quilt donor raised $462 for the MFR Christmas Hamper program.
Central Manitoulin Holiday Market vendors did very well and say there was definitely an increase of patrons over last year.
The Meet Santa had about 70 people big and small come to see Santa. Santa made several other appearances that day including earlier that day at the market, the parade and tree lighting.
The Central Manitoulin Lions Club Bake Sale at the Central Manitoulin Holiday Market raised almost $1400.00 for the Lions Foundation of Canada Dog Guide Program which recently benefited a Central Manitoulin resident.
The Parade was well attended and was a Hallmark scene when large snowflakes started falling as the parade came down highway 551 into the town of Mindemoya.
The Community Tree Lighting at Island Home Outfitters guest tree lighter was Ruth Frawley CAO/Clerk. Ruth was also presented a key to the Municipality from Mayor Richard Stephens. Ruth is retiring on December 31st which will mark 41 years with Sandfield Township and the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.
