Section 26(9) of the Planning Act requires that a municipality enact a Zoning By-law that conforms to an updated Official Plan no less than 3 years following approval such Plan. A new Comprehensive Zoning By-law has been prepared for the Municipality of Central Manitoulin that implements the District of Manitoulin Official Plan (2018), is updated based on Provincial Legislation, addresses emerging land-use planning issues, and is technically sound and user-friendly. This by-law will replace the current Restricted Area Zoning By-law 2002-07 for the Municipality.
IF YOU WISH TO BE NOTIFIED of the decision of the Municipality on the proposed zoning by-law, you must make a written request to the Ms. Ruth Frawley, Clerk/CAO, Municipality of Central Manitoulin, 6020 Highway 542, P.O. Box 187, Mindemoya, ON, P0P 1S0.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY would otherwise have an ability to appeal the decision of the Municipality to the Ontario Land Tribunal but the person or public body does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality before the proposed zoning by-law is adopted, the person or public body is not entitled to appeal the decision.
IF A PERSON OR PUBLIC BODY does not make oral submissions at a public meeting or make written submissions to the Municipality before the proposed zoning by-law is adopted, the person or public body may not be added as a party to the hearing of an appeal before the Ontario Tribunal unless, in the opinion of the Tribunal, there are reasonable grounds to add the person or public body as a party.
