Municipal Flags to Be Flown at Half mast to Honour 215 Children at Former Kamloops Indian Residential School

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin is saddened to hear the news from Kamloops, BC where the remains of 215 children were found at the site of the former Indian Residential School. To honour and respect the children and as a symbol of solidarity and with our Indigenous neighbours and friends we will be flying flags at half mast for 215 hours.

A Little About Central

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin is located in the centre of Manitoulin Island with an abundance of lakes, rivers, and beaches. The Municipality includes the villages and hamlets of Mindemoya, Providence Bay, Spring Bay, Sandfield and Big Lake.
