Mindemoya Water Treatment Intake Pipe Lake Hazard

Friday, June 24, 2022

Please be advised that a 200 to 300 metre section of the intake pipe for the Mindemoya water treatment plant has come to the surface of Lake Mindemoya approximately 450 metres from shore The location is in front of the Water treatment plant at Old Highway 551 and Ketchankookum Road.

Efforts are currently underway to have the section of intake pipe marked with buoys until it can be fixed. Those navigating by boat or personal water craft should avoid this area of Lake Mindemoya until further notice.

Currently there are no problems with the water system itself. The pipe is connected however its banding that holds it down has let go on the lake bottom.
