Our Municipality is planning to close our last remaining landfill in Providence Bay, ON in June 2023 to achieve compliance with Ministry of Environment Conservation and Parks requirements. As part of that process, we are completing a comprehensive evaluation of our waste service delivery options and developing a plan to address short and long-term waste diversion and disposal needs. With the support of the team at Cambium Inc., the Municipality of Central Manitoulin is preparing a Waste Management Master Plan.
Due to the timelines associated with the landfill’s closure, we are seeking to have a draft plan prepared by the end of September 2022.
