Central Manitoulin Multi-Plex ICIP Funding Application Unsuccessful

Thursday, August 13, 2020

The Investing in Canada Infrastructure Program (ICIP): Community, Culture and Recreation Stream funding application for the proposed “Construction of a New Community, Culture & Recreation Multi-Plex for the Municipality of Central Manitoulin” was not nominated for Federal review and approval.

The intake of this funding stream was highly competitive, and the total demand reached upwards of $10 billion dollars against total available joint funding of nearly $1 Billion dollars.

We wish to thank all of the Council members, staff and community members who worked diligently on behalf of the Municipality to present this proposal and we are poised to build upon the progress that we have made even though this particular funding stream did not produce the desired outcome.
