Municipal Office, Indoor and Some Outdoor Facilities Closed

All halls, arenas, playgrounds, sports fields are closed to all events until a further notice.The office is closed to in-person visits until further notice. 

Re-Opened Outdoor Amenities

Beaches open May 29th, parks, trails and tennis courts opened May 22nd

Libraries Closed

Mindemoya is available for curbside on Tuesdays Phone 705 377-5334.

Garbage Pickup/Landfills

Operating. For the safety of sanitation workers you must tie all bags and no tissues, wipes or paper towels in recycling. Landfills are open on their regular schedule.

Roads 

Roads department is operating as normal with staff precautions.

Provincial Fire Ban Lifted

The provincial restricted fire zone was lifted on May 16, 2020

Boat Launches & Docks

All boat launches and docks are open in the Municipality

Seasonal Washrooms

All seasonal washrooms will be opened as single use. Open for single use are the Providence Bay beach washroom change house, the Pavilion at the Government Dock in Mindemoya, the boat launches at Lake Kagawong, Big Lake and Sandfield are Bathrooms at the Municipal office, Welcome Centre, Discovery Centre and the portable toilet at the Mindemoya ball diamond will be closed. A portable toilet is on site at the Welcome Centre.  Washrooms are on an increased cleaning schedule from Municipal Maintenance.

Hospitals & Public Health

Council approved a donation of $10,000.00 to Manitoulin Health Centre-Mindemoya site for whatever may be needed to combat the COVID-19 pandemic. COVID-19 assessment centres, Mindemoya 705-377-5311, Little Current 705-368-2300 – 9 am until 5 pm daily. Follow the telephone prompts to the COVID-19 Assessment Line.

The Municipality has secured some limited funds for a Central Manitoulin Seniors age 55 + check in and in-need program.
