Central Manitoulin Fire Ban Lifted 07/16/2020

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin at the direction of the Fire Chief has posted a fire ban starting immediately on July 7th, 2020 within the boundaries of the Municipality of Central Manitoulin. A fire ban means no open burning. Dry conditions with no significant rainfall in the past few weeks and into the predicted future within the Municipality have prompted the ban. 

Outdoor propane fireplaces and barbecues are currently permitted.

The Municipality of Central Manitoulin is located in the centre of Manitoulin Island with an abundance of lakes, rivers, and beaches. The Municipality includes the villages and hamlets of Mindemoya, Providence Bay, Spring Bay, Sandfield and Big Lake.
