The Municipality of Central Manitoulin has one elementary school, located in the village of Mindemoya. Children are bussed in from Spring Bay, Sandfield, Big Lake, Silver Bay and Rockville. The Rainbow District School Board operates Central Manitoulin Public School.

Secondary students are bussed to Manitoulin Secondary School in neighbouring M'Chigeeng, approximately 15 minutes from Mindemoya.

The Manitoulin Toy Library has its centre in Mindemoya, and reaches out to the outlying villages with a "toy bus" programme.

Adult learning courses are available through Cambrian College which maintains a satellite campus in Little Current.

Contact North provides Internet and telephony learning through a centre at Manitoulin Secondary School.
