The need to maintain our current expected quality of life with improvements in personal growth opportunities that would be achieved by a commitment towards controlled growth. Controlled growth will reflect positive change fostering improvements in business activity through the advancement of public and private sector opportunities that are sustainable and ecologically sound encouraging all age groups to remain in the Municipality of Central Manitoulin.

With untapped resources and a steadily increasing tourist industry the possibilities for growth are endless. Newly installed high speed DSL internet access will move any business venture quicker and smoother to the rest of the world.
To keep your business moving, the Municipality of Central Manitoulin has a high energy and loyal work force. The town of Mindemoya's water and sewage treatment facilities, which were constructed in 1996, currently operate at 35% capacity allowing for endless expansion to new development and business needs. The Townships waste disposal site has a 29-year life expectancy so growth poses no problem. And our Economic Development staff is always eager to help.
It's a great place to live
The small town "help your neighbour" attitude thrives in Central Manitoulin. Quaint small towns and villages are scattered throughout the Island allowing for quiet and peaceful environments to raise a family and relax after a long day at work. Crime is low, you can see the stars in the night sky and pollution is nearly non-existent. Community togetherness flourishes and is a cornerstone in Central Manitoulin. Many community and recreation groups organize endless activities throughout the year to keep residents active in all seasons.
For the outdoor enthusiast, Central Manitoulin has it all, five public beaches, golfing, hiking trails, parks, snowmobiling, bird watching, cycling, skiing and amazing fishing and hunting opportunities. To complement the endless outdoor activities, we also have two ice arenas, two curling clubs, four ball diamonds, tennis courts, and three community centers.
When the day is through, what better place to call home than an enchanting, historic community of 2000 residents situated at "the heart of it all" on beautiful Manitoulin Island.
